Evangelization is any word or deed by which we spread the Gospel. We are all called by our baptism and confirmation to witness to the faith we profess, and by our word and by our example lead others to the knowledge of Christ's plan of salvation for this world. In this way, we carry out Christ's missionary mandate to his Church: "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20).

Our mission, however, is not only to bring news of Christ's redeeming love to those who do not know him, but also to reach those baptized Christians whose faith may have weakened. Indeed, we are to continuously strive for a deeper understanding, in ourselves and in all Catholic faithful, of the great mystery of God's love and mercy.
