Annual Seminarian Retreat '08

Seminarian Retreat '08The third annual seminarian retreat for the Diocese of Peterborough took place from August 20th to 24th at St. John the Baptist Mission in Morinus near Bracebridge in beautiful Muskoka, the heart of our Diocese, on the shores of Lake Rossaeu. The retreat master was Fr. Damian Smullen from Ennismore parish who led through the days of reflections with three lectures daily, Holy Mass, adoration, Liturgy of the Hours, times of silence and more. The reflections dealt with some specific characteristics of priestly life and ministry such as obedience, humility and prayerfulness. The retreat was attended by our eight seminarians and two more young men who are interested in the priesthood. Our Bishop generously added two more days as a bit of a holiday before our seminarians begin their studies at the seminary in September. Families of the mission Church, at the invitation of Fr. Bill, Pastor of Bracebridge, provided the meals, boat rides and other holiday activities. Fr. Bill and the families of Morinus mission deserve our thanks for their kindness and hospitality.
