Mission Statement
The Catholic Council of Trent is a university-wide organization that supports and unifies the Catholic community at Trent. We promote interfaith dialogue and are committed to developing spiritual awareness in order to facilitate faith development. The Catholic Council of Trent reaches out to the Peterborough community through social justice work and we provide opportunities to express, practice and learn about Catholicism through regular student mass and faith based events.
Events – Past and Present

Hey Everyone!
Another wicked upcoming event in progress is happening on Halloween Night (Oct. 31st) from 6:30 to 8pm and is called 'Trick or Eat!' The Catholic Council is collecting non-perishable food items while in crazy costumes for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, one of the Church’s charity organization! This is going to be a lot of fun and will really help the poor of our community! and, yes, there will be lots of free candy! Attached is the poster for this event, but before you go to hang it up, we are just working out a few last details before everything is go, so we'll let you know everything closer to the spooky night.
Hope to see you Wednesday and God bless!
In Christ,
Brad Waggoner (CCoT communications)

The Catholic Council of Trent has had many events since its inception as a formal group at Trent University. In addition to having a regular Catholic mass on campus, the CCT has had events for the community to enjoy. Some of the events that the CCT has and (hopefully) will have in the future are:
- Film nights and potlucks (with a wide range of films)
- Camping Trip to MacGregor Point Provincial Park
- Roundtable Discussion Groups on Catholic issues and topics
- Lectures on various topics by guest speakers (coming soon!)
We are also open to new ideas for events both geared toward for the Catholic community at Trent as well as interfaith events.

Mass Times
Mass is held at the LEC Pit (which isn’t as bad as it sounds) once a month. It should be either the first or third Sunday of each month, from 4-6 pm (starting in the new year this will be definite). After mass this is also time for a discussion on any topics relevant to the Council or on basically any other issue that may be brought up.
Roundtable Times and Dates
One of the recently ongoing events CCT events is a “roundtable” discussion group. This group meets (tentatively) twice a month to discuss issues relevant to Catholics, such as apostolic succession, the Vatican, sacraments and spiritual living, and social justice. This is mainly a chance to find out more about the Catholic faith by asking particular questions that perhaps wouldn’t be answered otherwise. Specific dates and times are TBA, but the roundtable will occur twice a month at the St. Peter-in-Chains Cathedral Rectory. Discussions are usually lively and thought provoking, so bring a friend (or two!).
